Ariana Quinones '94 Wins First Pat Handy Award for Outstanding Public Service

Mayor Vincent C. Gray gave the first Patricia "Pat” Handy Public Service Award to Ariana Quiñones-Miranda, '94, Chief of Staff to Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services BB Otero. Quiñones-Miranda was honored for her dedication to helping District residents, and particularly for her commitment to bringing various District agencies and service providers together to help residents who have gotten into potentially dangerous situations through hoarding.

"The Pat Handy Award honors the memory of a District employee who went above and beyond the call of duty every day to help our most vulnerable residents,” Mayor Gray said. "Ariana’s commitment to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of District residents is second to none, and I can’t think of anyone more worthy to receive the inaugural Handy Award.” Read more.
