Prof. Joseph Tulman and Professor Lisa M. Geis attended a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing convened by Senator Richard J. Durbin (D-IL) to address the school-to-prison pipeline.

"For many young people, our schools are increasingly a gateway to the criminal justice system,” said Sen. Richard J. Durbin (D-IL), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on constitution, civil rights and human rights, as he opened the hearing. "What is especially concerning about this phenomenon is that it deprives our kids of their fundamental right to an education.”
