Prof. Crisarla Houston, Director of the Legal Writing Program, presented at 2 different conferences during the month of October. On October 17, 2012, Prof. Houston gave a presentation to the National Lawyers Guild UDC Chapter on human trafficking titled, "Human Trafficking: Impact on Women and Society." The presentation was a part of the International Women's Rights United Nations Workshop at UDC-DCSL.
And on October 27, 2012, Prof. Houston presented at the Northeast People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference at Suffolk Law School. She presented a work-in-progress titled, "Women, Weapons, and the Wars on Crime and Terrorism: Exploring the Relationship between Interest Convergence Theory, National Security, and Sex Trafficking." Dr. Joshua Cooper, organizer of the annual Human Rights on the Hill programs, also spoke at the conference.
