Professor Matt Fraidin published a new column in The Huffington Post arguing that homeless families should be allowed to reside in housing units available at the D.C. General Hospital emergency family shelter.
Prof. Fraidin says, "Instead of letting children live under a safe roof, the Administration
lets them roam with their parents to bus stations, heating grates and
park benches. The city promotes foster care as an alternative to
shelter, and forces mothers to provide sexual favors to protect their
children from these unnecessary hazards and horrors."
If you'd like to learn more or help persuade the Mayor that plenty of people disagree about the choices the Administration is making on this issue, please click the link below, which will take you to the additional information. You'll also have the opportunity to send a 1-click, form-letter email to the Mayor and Administration officials, expressing your wishes that they reexamine their policy. http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/6419/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=11659
