Prince George's County Board of Education Chairwoman Verjeana Jacobs, '96,was quoted in The Bowie Blade-News.

Whitehall Elementary School Bowie, a school in Jacobs' district, was selected as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

"This is incredible recognition for a most deserving school,” said Verjeana M. Jacobs, chairman of the Prince George’s County Board of Education.

Jacobs, who represents District 5, which includes Bowie, said, "I join the Bowie community in celebrating this award.”
