On August 15, 2012, Dean Katherine S. Broderick and UDC President Dr. Allen L. Sessoms welcomed the entering Classes of 2015 and 2016 Evening Division at a reception in the Rayburn House Office Building, hosted by Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC). The presentation concluded the 8-day Student Orientation for the Class of 2015 and 2016 Evening Division.

She urged the students to help the poor, and congratulated them on choosing to study law at one of the only public interest, public service law schools in the nation.
