Thomas MackThomas Mack
Professor of Law

B.A., summa cum laude, Loras College, 1961; J.D., University of Chicago School of Law, 1964.

Thomas MackProfessor Mack teaches Torts, Evidence, Remedies, Constitutional Law and Federal Courts. His legal experience includes private practice, government positions, and neighborhood legal services work in Chicago and San Francisco. He was the founding Dean, and Professor of Law at the New College of California. He was a professor, the Clinical Dean, and the Dean at Antioch School of Law. He served as the first Chair of the Board of Trustees of the District of Columbia School of Law.

Professor Mack has been involved in substantial pro bono litigation over the years, including work with Martin Luther King in Chicago; with Cesar Chavez in California; with whistleblowers across the country; with reporters protecting sources; with lawyers, law students, and judges facing disciplinary proceedings; with political candidates denied a place on the ballot; with citizens and prisoners beaten by police or prison guards; and with clients facing discrimination because of gender, race, lesbian orientation, and homosexual orientation. More recently, Professor Mack has represented clients with HIV and lawyers improperly excluded by judges from representing clients in court appointed cases.
