The Theater of the Arts Auditorium is located at near the 4300 block of  Connecticut Avenue, NW at Windom Circle; one block down from the METRO.  Parking is available on the B-level of the University Garage, which can be accessed  from Van Ness St. NW.

Your Voice Your Future, Freedom of Speech

at University of DC’s Theater for the Performing Arts

Wednesday April 20th at 7:00 p.m.  

An expert panel will discuss the current state of The First Amendment in our country including speech on campus, internet speech, rights of protestors and artistic expression. How do citizens, government officials, presidential candidates and the Supreme Court view speech today?

The town hall will be hosted by ABC7 and NewsChannel 8 anchors Jonathan Elias and Michelle Marsh.

Panelists include:


David Shipler – former New York Times reporter and author of Freedom of Speech, Mightier than the Sword

Monica Hopkins-Maxwell – Executive Director, DC ACLU

Ken Klukowski – bestselling author and director of the Center for religious Liberty at the Family Research Council

William Creeley – Vice President of Legal and Public Advocacy FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education
