Separation of Church and State: Current Issues

 The Christian Law Society has invited

Cedrick Harmon from Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and

Michael Casey Mattox from the Center for Law and Religious Freedom

to discuss these questions and more:

  • What is the Constitutional basis for separation of church and state?
  • Where is the permissible line between church and state?
  • Is the ban on political campaign activities by churches and other non-profit organizations in violation of the Constitution?
  • How did faith-based initiatives under President Clinton become constitutionally acceptable given the Doctrine of Separation of Church and State?
