The goal of Environmental Justice Summit and Panel is for attendees to have a basic understanding of environmental justice and the significant role that Title VI plays in promoting environmental justice. We will also discuss the disparate effects of placing waste burning facilities in low-income communities. Also, we want the attendees to understand the importance of public participation in the development and implementation stages of strategies for environmental justice. Most importantly, we want the attendees to gain valuable information regarding ways to become involved in the efforts to promote environmental justice.

The panel will feature Mike Ewall '11 along with other proponents of the Environmental Justice movement.

The panel will be followed by a networking session. Light refreshments will be served.
