The UDC-DCSL Office of Career Services (OCS) sends out an electronic Alumni Career Bulletin and Student Career Bulletin on a weekly or bi-weekly basis (depending on volume). The Bulletin lists all of the opportunities that OCS receives, including full-time jobs, internships, fellowships and judicial clerkships. - ABA Career Counsel: Legal Postings and Alternative Careers for Lawyers at the ABA. The ABA offers a variety of opportunities for lawyers at their headquarters in Chicago as well as in their Washington D.C. office. [Open in new window]
- AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee Hiring Halls: List of legal jobs throughout the country with unions and law firms specializing in employment law. Updated monthly; free to search. [Open in new window]
- American Health Lawyer's Association: Has a national job bank of health-related legal positions. Not a ton of jobs (10 when we checked), but definitely check it out if you are interested in health law. [Open in new window]
- Attorney Jobs Online: Publishers of the National and Federal Legal Employment Report. Every month, they list more 500-600 current positions for attorneys in mainstream and law-related fields in every employment sector, professional level, and geographic area, including abroad. - Emplawyernet: Mostly lists firms and businesses, but has a decent number of listings. Does some firm recruiting. - Federal Defender of Eastern Washington & Idaho: Positions in the Federal Defender System, primarily Washington and Idaho, but occasionally in other states as well. [Open in new window]
- Findlaw's Information: Decent number of legal jobs and good career research tools. Many jobs use the service's placement service, which means that you don't always know to what organization you are applying. Worth a look. [Open in new window]
- Global Legal: A full-service legal placement company specializing in temporary and permanent placement of attorneys, paralegals and legal support staff; emphasis on providing litigation support. Formerly Clausman Legal Staffing. [Open in new window]
- Hieros Gamos Legal Employment Classifieds: The HG Legal Employment Classified permits all members of the legal profession to search for positions and to list their personalized employment interest so an e-mail notification can automatically be sent to you when a position is posted that matches your interest; done through Emplawyernet- may have same listings. - HotJobs Legal: Nicely designed site. Can search for legal jobs by state, company, or keyword. Found 30 in DC when we searched. Free. [Open in new window]
- iHire Legal : After you have registered, completed the profile and submitted your resumé, iHire will send you an e-mail when you have been matched to a position. Return to the website and login, select "view potential job matches" to see the list of matched jobs. If you would like to apply for a position, answer the requirement section and hit the "submit" button. This will allow the employer to view your application and resumé. Free for job seekers. - JD Post: This website is run by law students; provides the largest job board exclusively dedicated to law students and attempts to meet the needs of all law students that arise incidental to employment (housing, etc). - Jobs in Indian Law: From the College of Law at Arizona State University. Lists jobs in Native American law at nonprofits, firms, agencies and reservations throughout the country. [Open in new window]
- Law Bulletin Publishing Company: Chicago area legal trade paper and lists classifieds for lawyers on a daily basis. A lot of listings for attorneys and other legal jobs. Free for job seekers. [Open in new window]
- LawHelp.org: An on-line service that helps low and moderate income people find free legal aid programs in their communities, and answers to questions about their legal rights. - Law Jobs: From the National Law Journal - includes classified ads from the National Law Journal, the New York Law Journal, the Know Journal Extra, and the Law Technology Product News. - Lawyers Without Borders: Interesting jobs and internships primarily in international, human rights, and civil rights law; mostly international but some U.S. positions, too. - Legal Employment Search Site: provides a great "jumping off point" for finding a law-related job on the Internet. While it does not actually list jobs it provides links to sites and resources that do list jobs. [Open in new window]
- National Immigration Project: A project of the National Lawyers Guild. Positions in immigration law with nonprofits and firms in the United States. [Open in new window]

- National Legal Aid & Defender Association: Positions throughout the country in civil legal services, defender organizations, pro bono and public interest organizations, public interest law firms and academia. Searchable by state. [Open in new window]
- National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives: Positions throughout the country for lawyers and non-lawyer representatives in the field of Social Security advocacy. [Open in new window]
- Oppedahl & Larson: Firm only has occasional listing, but site provides a lot of information for those interested in Patent Law. [Open in new window]
- Palidan: A legal recruiter that matches legal providers with legal projects. Also provides a legal discussion forum and pro bono discussion forum. Unclear fee structure. [Open in new window]
- Public Interest Advocates' Online Database: Hosted by Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. A free, searchable database that contains thousands of public interest organizations, legal aid services, lawyers' associations, law schools, and legal research tools in dozens of searchable categories, including by issue area and state. Find, for example, organizations working on Civil Rights in DC or Environmental Protection in California, or all the Legal Aid organizations in New York. - PS Law Net: Considered the most comprehensive national database of current public interest jobs, internships, fellowships, and pro bono opportunities. PS Law Net, which is available to current students and alumni, also lists other valuable sources of information, such as job fairs. - Special Counsel, Inc.: Privately-held legal search firm - one of the largest in the country- specializes exclusively in the placement of permanent, temporary and contract legal personnel. - Vault: Search jobs, research companies, get career advice, join lists, receive newsletters. A good number of jobs in the DC area, primarily corporate and law firm positions. - WetFeet Law: A lot of jobs in business, not necessarily attorney jobs. Explores how lawyers can break away from big-firm practice and looks at career opportunities in fields including the Internet, public service, financial services, consulting, education, and others; decent articles. - Action Without Borders (Idealist.org): Searchable database of job, internship and volunteer opportunities at over 40,000 nonprofit organizations in over 160 countries; announcements of Idealist Nonprofit Career Fairs throughout the U.S.; and the option for users to sign up for e-mailed job listings. - Washington Council of Lawyers: WCL is a voluntary bar association in DC with a mission to promote the practice of pro bono and public interest law. - NALP Reference Desk: NALP is a national association for law placement recruiters and professionals. The GLBT committee has compiled a list of resources that are available through the NALP website. Those resources include a contact list by topic area, and an annotated bibliography. - National Lesbian and Gay Law Association: The NLGLA is a national association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals, law students, activists, and affiliated lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender legal organizations.
