The next swearing in ceremony to be sponsored by the School of Law for its alumni will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 (an argument day). Space will be limited to 12, so if you plan to participate, please reply RSVP to Joe Libertelli at JLibertelliudc.edu and follow the steps below to complete the application process.

October 2003 Supreme Court Bar Swearing-InThe next opportunity will take place the following week on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 (a non-argument day) which allows room for 50 alumni. Again, reply to JLibertelliudc.edu to reserve your space.

The deadline for registration is December 15, 2007. Your application, your certificate of good standing and your $100 check made out to the "US SUPREME COURT" must be sent to the School of Law for these group admissions. Send your packets to:

Attn: Joe Libertelli
UDC David A. Clarke School of Law
4200 Connecticut Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20008

To be eligible for United States Supreme Court Bar membership, alumni must have been members of the bar in good standing of the highest court of their jurisdiction for the past three years, present a certificate of good standing from that court, be sponsored by two current members of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, pay a fee and present a completed application. You are allowed only one guest inside the courtroom. For complete admission information and forms, visit the U.S. Supreme Court Bar Admission website.

Our tradition is for the Dean and Alumni Director to meet with candidates for admission the morning of their swearing in ceremony for an a la carte breakfast in the Supreme Court Cafeteria. There is no limit to the number of guests at the breakfast.

The School of Law has a number of professors and administrators who are members of the Supreme Court Bar who may be willing to sponsor alumni. If you think you may need help identifying sponsors, please contact us.

For more information about future swearing in ceremonies, contact Director of Alumni Relations, Joe Libertelli at JLibertelliudc.edu or (202) 274-7338.
