Professor Tuwana Cummings is an attorney with the Department of the Navy, Office of General Counsel where she serves as Assistant Counsel to the General Counsel.

Professor Cummings’ practice regularly includes issues that are governed by the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and several other environmental statutes and regulations.

While in law school, Professor Cummings served on the Texas Business Law Journal as an assistant editor. She also interned with the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas where she worked on various criminal and civil law issues.

Prior to attending law school, Professor Cummings worked for JP Morgan and Chase Bank for a number of years, and worked as a legislative assistant to a U.S. Congressman in the 25th district of Houston, Texas.

Professor Cummings is a member of the State Bar of Texas and teaches Lawyering Process I and II.
