Professor Pleasant is a native Californian and currently practices disability law with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. During law school, she clerked in the Criminal and Civil Divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California, as well as the Appeals, Writs and Trial Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the State of California. Professor Pleasant has also worked for non-profit organizations, such as the St. HOPE Development Corporation, which was founded by current Sacramento Mayor, Kevin Johnson; and the American Bar Association’s Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO). In addition to teaching at the law school, Professor Pleasant teaches undergraduate political science and criminology courses at UDC.
