Mission
The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law Law Review (UDC/DCSL L. Rev.) is a student-run periodical that publishes articles of topical legal interest. Our aspiration is to serve the community by raising awareness of important legal issues of social concern. An important focus of our activities this year will be a symposium on addressing social injustice, covering national and D.C. specific issues. We expect our Law Review this year to cover additional topics including a review of recent legal developments in D.C.
Students are eligible to join Law Review at the end of their first or second years at UDC-DCSL, either based upon their grade average or by participating in a write-on competition. For more information please contact the Editor in Chief at
kimberly.pulick@udc.edu or one of the
Editorial Board members.

Write-On Competition
Students may receive offers to join the UDC-DCSL Law Review staff by grading-on and/or writing-on. Students grade-on by exceeding a 3.2 GPA and receiving a "B" average in Lawyering Process I and II after a full year of legal study. Offers of membership to students who grade-on are sent before the start of the Fall semester. All students may also participate in the write-on competition, regardless of their expected or actual grades. No distinction is made within the Law Review staff between students who grade-on and those who write-on.
Materials for the write-on competition are posted on this page at the end of the Spring semester. Students typically have one week to complete the submission, which is a legal essay based on a closed-universe of cases and articles provided by the Law Review staff. The essays are graded anonymously and offers of membership to students who write-on are sent before the start of the Fall semester.
Law Review Symposium
