Associate Professor of Law

B.A., Howard University, 1975; J.D., University of Wisconsin School of Law, 1978.

Associate Professor Jones became Director of the Legal Writing Program in 1999. She also teaches Advanced Legal Writing and Federal Courts. She began her career as a trial attorney in the Honors Program of the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division. Subsequently she became an associate with Clark, Wulf & Levine, the civil rights law firm of former Attorney General Ramsey Clark. She was then the Assistant General Counsel with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, a litigation consultant to the Law Office for Equal Justice in Chicago, Illinois, and a risk manager and counsel for Medical Emergency Care Associates, also in Chicago. She taught Legal Writing at the University of Wisconsin Law School and Constitutional Law and Legal Writing at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2003, Professor Jones taught Constitutional Law as a Visiting Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University Law School in Carbondale, Illinois. She has recently written articles in the areas of constitutional law and federal jurisdiction.
